Director of Wastewater Business Development H2O Innovation, a reputable growing organization specializing in water and wastewater treatment, has an opening for a Director of Wastewater Business Development to direct sales efforts for biological wastewater treatment and membrane wastewater treatment equipment in the US.
Must have appropriate engineering degree(s) and at least seven years of experience in a combination of sales, engineering and manufacturing. Additionally, extensive experience in managing representative organization is required.
Responsibilities to include attaining revenue targets, develop rep organization and provide technical and commercial guidance and support to the reps and sales team. Remuneration will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience.

Duties include the following:
- Manage the Wastewater Equipment Group sales efforts, reporting to senior management;
- Perform oversight of procurement, production and delivery of mechanical equipment;
- Work closely with support network, including engineers, technicians, vendors and suppliers;
- Be responsible for attaining revenue targets while managing expenses;
- Be responsible for product growth and market development;
- Perform direct sales;
- Recruit new sales representatives, manage sales representatives’ organization and expand representation in new territories in Canada and in the US;
- Provide training to the sales representatives’ organization;
- Provide technical and sales support to the sales representatives’ organization;
- Supply the sales representatives’ organization with current product pricing information;
- Develop marketing literature for the wastewater products line to support the sales representatives’ organization;
- Prepare for and attend selected state and national WEF and other shows, such as WEFTEC. Plan exhibits and materials;
- Develop advertising in national magazines and newsletters, analyze sales results resulting from advertisements and determine effectiveness;
- Facilitate the growth and development of business and promote products and services, most particularly in the wastewater product line.
Engineering position
H2O Innovation, a major manufacturer of water and
wastewater treatment equipment is seeking to fill the position of Principal Wastewater Engineer to be
located in either Minneapolis, MN
or Calgary AB.
The position requires a degree in Civil or
Environmental Engineering, preferably with a Master of Science Degree in
wastewater treatment, and a minimum of 5 years of experience. Professional registration and knowledge of BioWin
design software and AutoCAD is a plus.
Primary duties include the design of
biological wastewater treatment plants using a patented integrated fixed film
activated sludge system and membranes, preparation of proposals, job cost
estimates and dealing with clients and sales personnel as well as management. Local and international travel is required.
Specific duties are as follows:
- Based
on given data of wastewater strength and flow, perform preliminary design of wastewater treatment plants based on
BioWin or other calculations in accordance
with established criteria and history of previously constructed plants.
- Prepare
preliminary cost estimates including bill of materials, equipment and controls.
- Prepare
formal proposals for submittal to potential clients, and/or assist marketing and sales personnel in
preparing proposals.
- Prepare
budget cost estimates for projects with minimal information.
- Initiate
drawings and sketches of treatment plants and supervise draftsmen.
- Develop
final design of wastewater treatment plants including shop drawings, specifications
and construction documents.
- Assist
in-house marketing personnel and sales representatives in preparation of documentation for sales efforts,
including collection of data, graphics and charts.
- Attend
sales meetings, conferences and trade shows to interact with sales personnel, engineers and clients.
- Investigate
innovative plant design with emphasis on improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of the product, as well
as increasing performance.
- Maintain
an excellent working knowledge of state, provincial and federal regulations, as well as current design
processes.
- Obtain
performance data on previously constructed treatment plants to be used in proposals and justification of design.
- Maintain
records of costs and comparison of estimates versus actual costs.
