H2O Innovation's History

Founded in 2000, H2O Innovation® has set as its goal to be an active and important player in the consolidation of the water treatment industry. H2O Innovation® has gained a kean understanding of market issues, seized opportunities, and successfully completed carefully selceted acquisitions that have made it into a key player in the water treatment industry. Along the way, it has built a comprehensive portfolio of water purification and treatment solutions.

The company now covers virtually all applications in its field, from drinking water production to the treatment of wastewater and the production of industrial process water. As a provider of creative, reliable, and powerful solutions for today’s leading social concerns, H2O Innovation® can now use its experience and expertise as a springboard toward a flourishing future.

A look back at some of the company's milestones:

2010: Merger of U.S. subsidiaries and adoption of H2O Innovation® for all U.S. operations. Membrane Systems Inc., Wastewater Technologies Inc. and Itasca Systems Inc. were merged on July 1, 2010 and now continue their activities under the name of H2O Innovation USA, Inc. This merger streamlines H2O Innovation®'s structure and brings increased efficiency.
2010:Creation of the joint-venture H2O Innovation India Limited (based in Mumbai, India)
Joint-venture with Chembond Chemicals Limited, also of Mumbai, India. This joint-venture provides water treatment systems and maintenance services to the Indian commercial, industrial and institutional markets.
2009: Acquisition of Professional Water Technologies (a U.S. based company)
Brings with a proprietary line of specialty patent-pending sustainable membrane pre-treatment and maintenance products—a growth vehicle for H2O Innovation®—as well as a 12,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and office facility.
2008: Acquisition of Itasca Systems Inc. (a U.S. based company)
H2O Innovation® gains expertise in process water treatment as well as a 37,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and assembly facility.
2008: Acquisition of Wastewater Technology Inc. (a U.S. based company)
This acquisition brings an expertise in wastewater treatment with patented Bio-Brane™ membrane bioreactor and Bio-Wheel™ biological wastewater treatment system.
2007: Acquisition of Sigma Environmental Solutions Inc.
This transaction increases H2O Innovation®'s sales force in Western Canada and strenghtens its offer to the oil and mining industry.
2007: Listing on the NYSE Euronext Alternext Euronext exchange.
H2O Innovation® becomes the first North American company admitted to this exchange and attracts the attention of European sustainable development funds.
2006: Acquisition of Membrane Systems Corporation (a U.S. based company).
H2O Innovation® gains expertise in seawater desalination and onsite construction of high capacity NF and RO membrane filtration plants.
2005: Acquisition of Biosor Technologies Inc.
The wastewater division portfolio is rounded out with the BIOSOR™ technology for high load effluent treatment.
2002: Acquisition of OxydH2O and Systèmes Bioflo Inc.
H2O Innovation® adds a water purification component through the RBR, BIOTOWER, and BIO-FOSSE technologies.
2001: Listing on the CDNX (TSX-V) exchange.
H2O Innovation® becomes Quebec’s first publicly traded water treatment company.
2000: CAD$3 million in funding and acquisition of Darv-Eau Inc.
Provides membrane filtration expertise (NF, RO) as well as a 65,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and assembly plant.
2000: Company founded in Quebec City, Canada
